Youth

TMC provides young people with an environment that supports individual development, encourages community connection and celebrates diversity.

youth programs and services

TMC advocates for and assists young people aged 12-25 years to aspire and achieve their goals and ambitions. We do this through targeted activities that promote social connections, education and training, entering the labour force, health and wellbeing. We are also provided with funding to implement other important government initiatives to support the next generation of community leaders.

Youth for work

TMC’s Youth for Work Project has been one of our most successful programs. Funded by the  Queensland Government Skilling Queenslanders for Work (Ready for Work).

Services included in this program are: Preparing for Work, Job Search Training, Employability Skills Training, one-on-one case management and pathways to training opportunities.

Eligibility Criteria: 15-24 years, no longer at school; permanent Queensland resident or New Zealand Citizen; not eligible for Australian Government employment services or assistance; require complementary services because of significant barriers to learning and employment; receiving Australian Government services for over 6 months but still unemployed. Priority will be given to young people who have already left school or are undertaking further education and training.

TMC is funded by government grants including the Australian Government Living Safe Together Grants Program to provide support and assistance to youth from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
