Introducing TMC as a Cams Provider

The Migrant Centre Organisation Inc. (trading as Thriving Multicultural Communities) provides various no-cost community services and programs to assist the Gold Coast community. Many of our programs focus on assisting persons from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD), from migrant and refugee backgrounds to promote social and economic inclusion in Australian society.

For the next 3 years, TMC, will be the provider of the Queensland Government’s CAMS program for the Northern Gold Coast. Our CAMS Coordinator is Jake Coates.

Jake has been with TMC for a year as a Project Coordinator and has a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, certificates in intercultural communication and grant and tender writing.

what is cams?

The Community Action for a Multicultural Society (CAMS) program supports the Queensland Government’s commitment to promoting an inclusive, harmonious and united Queensland”. The Queensland Government has provided funding to 19 locally based organisations throughout Queensland to deliver local economic and social inclusion outcomes for people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. With the funding, each organisation will aim to deliver a range of projects, activities and initiatives that address local barriers to economic and social inclusion and build sustainable opportunities for inclusion in local employment, services, networks, and industries.

Consequently, TMC – Thriving Multicultural Communities has developed a 3 year plan to deliver programs, activities and initiatives that will support social cohesion, as well as promote independence and opportunity for all.
